More Important Promotions

After a distinguished 40-year career in the financial services industry, Tom Galvin is no longer with City National Rochdale. With appreciation for Tom’s contributions to City National Rochdale’s investment strategy, we’re extremely happy to announce that Charles Luke has accepted the role of Chief Investment Officer effective immediately. Charles has been a key leader within the CIO office since joining the firm in 2018, which in addition to his 20 years of experience in the investment management industry makes him extremely qualified to lead CNR’s investment office into the future.

Additionally, we’re also pleased to announce that Michael Taila has assumed sole leadership of the fixed income strategy team. With over 20 years of experience in the investment industry we’re confident Michael will continue to do a stellar job leading the team. Finally, we’re initiating an external search for a head of equity strategies. In the interim, Amy Chen will continue in her role leading day-to-day management of CNR’s core equity strategy.

We are also confident in the ongoing support that will be provided by the deep talent of our Investment Strategy Committee. As has always been our process, we will continue to rely on our Investment Strategy Committee to make asset allocation recommendations with the CIO maintaining responsibility for synthesizing those recommendations within our broader investment strategy. Given Charles and Michael have been longstanding members of the Investment Strategy Committee, this transition will be seamless.

We’re confident these changes will continue to position City National Rochdale as a premier provider of high-net-worth investment management services and look forward to serving advisors and their clients.
